Goldman Sachs chief economist sees 60% chance that Fed will raise rates in December
Bill McBride at Calculated Risk snagged a copy of recent commentary from Jan Hatzius, chief economist at Goldman Sachs. In the research piece, Hatzius says the Federal Reserve is likely to raise rates in December -- despite weak recent numbers. Hatzius says "we are only about 60% confident." The wildcards, of course, are the data.
That "only about 60%" confident level is about twice as confident as the rest of the market.
